Anyway, I felt like writing a review of a Lawson bento on a whim.

My verdict up front: this is one of the tastier Lawson bentos I’ve had. Maybe it was because it had been made less than a day earlier, but the rice was fragrant, sweet, and wonderfully soft.

Peeling back the plastic wrap, I was greeted by the aroma of cheese and butter from the soft eggs, followed by the sweet smell of tomatoes and eggs.

Unlike a certain fried chicken rice meal I’d had before that had been sitting around for two days, the beef here was tender, juicy, and pleasantly springy. It came in a sweet black pepper sauce that complemented the tomato flavor.

A boxed meal can only go so far compared with something freshly cooked, but considering that exactly zero restaurants were open at 4 a.m., I’d give this one a pretty high spot on the tier list.
